Color Blocks: ootd

Who says you have to wait for some charming prints to come along and save that dress in distress?  I find that mixing solids can be as effective as adding prints to give new life to an outfit. So, today I'll do a quick demo of building your own color block outfit.
Start by choosing colors that compliment each other but also really pop.  Don't go overboard with the number of colors, stick with two or three.  For my outfit I chose a deep cerulean blue dress which is nice, but not terribly interesting.  I paired it with this fuchsia cardi and flats to give it some visual appeal and interest even though there are no prints or patterns involved.
I think a bright yellow purse would have been the best finishing touch to this outfit, but unfortunately I have no pics.  This is mainly because I don't a yellow purse, but also because this weekend has been absolutely gorgeous and we have spent every free second enjoying the sunshine.  I'll leave this post at that, short and sweet.

Shop the Look:
Charter School Cardigan and Locket earrings are from ModCloth
J. Crew Dress from ThredUp
Aldo flats are old
